Medicare: Member ID card barcodes
As of Jan. 1, 2023, most UnitedHealthcare® Medicare Advantage plan members have received a new member ID card, called the UnitedHealthcare UCardTM.
What you need to know
Each UCard has a scannable barcode for members to make in-store purchases using their ancillary benefits. Please note you do not need to scan the barcode to provide medical, dental, prescription, vision or hearing services to members.
UCard has the information you need to verify eligibility as you typically would. UCard does not need to be activated for you to verify eligibility.
