Honor AAPI Heritage Month with health equity training

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, a time to recognize the unique factors that influence health outcomes across AAPI communities. Understanding these factors can help you identify barriers to care and tailor communications, care plans and follow-up visits to better support your patients.

We encourage you to complete the Health Equity Foundations: Ensuring No One Is Left Behind course to help recognize health disparities and address the following social and environmental factors that can affect health outcomes:

  • Language access and health literacy
  • Cultural beliefs that influence help seeking or treatment decisions
  • Immigration, employment and insurance considerations
  • Transportation, housing stability and caregiving responsibilities
