New York Medicaid: Change to Direct Home Care Worker claims

Starting Oct. 1, 2026, all UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of New York Direct Home Care Worker claims must include the Home Care Worker ID as the rendering provider ID. This requirement applies only to home health aide, personal care and consumer directed personal assistance services (CDPAS) claims and aligns with guidance issued by the New York State Department of Health, Office of Health Insurance Programs.

In addition, all Direct Home Care Worker claims must be submitted through the HHAeXchange platform. Claims for these services submitted outside of HHAeXchange on or after Oct. 1, 2026, will be rejected.
