February 2025
Starting March 7, 2025, you can no longer use email as a recovery method when signing in to the Provider Portal. To maintain uninterrupted access, if you haven’t already made the update, you’re required to have 1 of the following verified on your account:
Updating to passkey, authenticator and/or a verified phone number for authentication helps better protect identity and practice data. Once enabled, passkey offers the most protection available today and is easy to use. If you do not complete setting up the minimum multi-factor authentication methods, you will be unable to log into the Provider Portal.
What is it? | How does it work? | Action needed | |
---|---|---|---|
Passkey | Most secure, fastest and easiest-to-use option that doesn’t require a phone. | This desktop option uses one of the following to identify you: fingerprint, facial recognition, PIN, touch ID or face ID | Add passkey |
Authenticator + phone number | Requires a free smartphone app and a mobile or direct landline number (no extension) | This smartphone app delivers a time-based, one-time passcode to enter to confirm your identity. You’ll receive a one-time code by text or phone call if you’re locked out or need a multifactor authentication method. | Verify your phone number and get Authenticator |
Password + phone number | Similar to how you sign in to the portal now with your password, but also requires a mobile or direct landline number (no extension) | If you’re locked out or need a multifactor authentication method, you’ll receive a one-time code by text or phone call | Verify your phone number |
A recovery code is a unique and secure 16-digit code to help you regain access to your One Healthcare ID account in cases where you have forgotten, lost or misplaced your sign-in information or authentication device.
All users will be required to download a recovery code. You were prompted to download and save yours in January 2025.
If you need to redownload your recovery code, it can be found in the right-side menu of the Manage My One Healthcare ID page. If you lose your recovery code, a new One Healthcare ID account will be required to access the Provider Portal.
