The first meeting with pregnant patients is crucial to help ensure they begin their prenatal care on a healthy path. When you use Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) during the visit, you can earn a $100 incentive.
SBIRT is an evidence-based, early detection and intervention approach for people with opioid use disorder before they need more extensive or specialized treatment. Early intervention can help reduce the risk of miscarriage, negative birth outcomes, premature birth and neonatal abstinence syndrome.
You can use any of the following codes to qualify for the SBIRT incentive:
SBIRT incentive codes
H0049 | Alcohol and/or drug screening |
H0050 | Alcohol and/or drug service, brief intervention, per 15 minutes. |
99408 | Alcohol and/or substance (other than tobacco) abuse structured screening (e.g., AUDIT, DAST) and brief intervention (SBI) services; 15 to 30 minutes |
