Get your Gold Card eligibility status on Sept. 1

We introduced the first national Gold Card Program in October 2024, replacing prior authorizations with advance notification for provider groups consistently adhering to evidence-based care guidelines.

We’re happy to announce that in the third year of the program, starting on Sept. 1, 2026, we’ll share details on how to check if your provider group qualified for the Gold Card Program. Qualified provider groups will be eligible on Oct. 1, 2026.

How to view your Gold Card status

You can view your current Gold Card status in the UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal. Additional details on how to check your status is available on our national Gold Card program resources.

The Gold Card Program helps simplify the prior authorization process for qualifying providers and eligible services. Qualifying providers will need to submit advance notification, which confirms eligibility and network status, but no clinical information will be requested. We’ve updated the program protocol for the renewal period of Oct. 1, 2026.
