• Provider Express Behavioral Health Webinars & Training - Optum Provider Express offers informational webinars and training resources for providers on topics that may be vital to your practice. 
  • Online training for Behavioral Health Providers is available under “UnitedHealthcare Community Plan Prior Authorization Training for Behavioral Health Providers”.

Our maternity support programs provide UnitedHealthcare Community Plan members with education, resources and individualized support to help them focus on a healthy pregnancy and birth. These programs are available to members at no extra cost. Incentives may be available for health care professionals and members who participate in the programs.

Submitting a notification of pregnancy

When you identify a pregnant UnitedHealthcare Community Plan member, you help us connect the member with support services by giving us a notification. You can notify us online or by fax.

• Submit the notification of pregnancy online using the Care Conductor and Notification of Pregnancy tool at UHCprovider.com/eligibility > View Patient Care Plan
• Health care professionals are eligible for up to $50 per pregnancy after submitting the notification of pregnancy to us within 10 days of seeing a UnitedHealthcare Community Plan member.

When you check “Yes” to care coordination on your submitted OBRAF, we’ll contact the member about participating in our maternity support programs. These programs include:

Healthy First Steps

Healthy First Steps^™ is a voluntary program for expectant mothers that includes rewards, as well as access to resources, educational opportunities and care management support from a multidisciplinary team.

Healthy First Steps rewards may be available to members when they go to their scheduled doctor appointments. Members can check their eligibility and get health tips and other resources at uhchealthyfirststeps.com.

Wellhop for Mom & Baby

You can help your patients easily connect with other expecting moms with Wellhop for Mom & Baby. This new program connects expectant moms for support during pregnancy and beyond. Community support is just a click away; everything is online through group video conversations every other week.

You can refer patients to the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) Tobacco Control Program (TCP) online at QUIT NOW VIRGINIA or by calling the VDH Hotline at 877-275-8343.

Treating prenatal opioid use disorder

Our toolkit gives health care professionals an overview and recommendations for treating prenatal opioid use disorder and neonatal abstinence syndrome.

• Care Philosophy Training: Establishing a Trauma-Informed Care Environment - Earn up to 6 FREE CEUs
  • This course from Optum Health Education offers a foundation for establishing a trauma-informed care environment rooted in evidence-based best practices. The course is designed for those who provide direct services to individuals with highly complex social, behavioral and medical needs. Topics include Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), person-centered care, addiction and recovery, harm reduction, personal narratives, motivational interviewing, stages of change, positive psychology, de-escalation, boundaries and self-care. Continuing education credits are available for this course.
• OptumHealth Education (Last Modified 06.08.2018) - OptumHealth Education offers accredited, on-demand webcasts and information regarding upcoming conferences for both physical and behavioral health providers. Some activities include Disease Management, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Behavioral Health, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
